Opening November 3rd by Damien Atkins We at Performing Arts of Woodstock are excited about our fall production Lucy, by Damien Atkins. It's about a 13 year old, artistically talented, autistic girl, Lucy, who has been cared for by her divorced, now exhausted father. He asks Lucy's mother, a famous anthropologist who admits she has no maternal instincts, to take their daughter for a year so that Lucy can attend a prestigious school in New York City and he can remarry. The mother, Vivian, is terrified about the responsibility, but agrees, and then becomes fascinated. The play develops around the characters' determination to understand and help Lucy and themselves. Sharon Breslau directs Terri Mateer as Vivian, Georgia Belmont as Lucy, Meg Belmont as Julia, Vivian's assistant, Chris Grady as the father, and David Griffiths as the doctor at Lucy's school.
Performances are November 3, 4*, 5, 10,11,12 and 17,18,19 at 7:30pm |
